This review is ONLY FOR THE RESTAURANT. I had a bourbon bacon burger and you know how most the time when bourbon is in the name of a food, you often find ypurself wondering "where's the bourbon?". Well, you don't have to worry about that here! It is DELICIOUS and you can definitely tell bourbon was used! The onion rings are good too, but the burger was the show stopper. It is also very reasonably priced.
We had a great stay at the Mayhill Cafe & Hotel, and a delicious breakfast in the morning. The facilities were extremely clean and well-appointed, and the electric fireplace in the room was a nice touch and kept us nice and toasty. Beds were very comfortable, as well! This is a small mountain town, so don't expect to find much to do, but it's perfect for a night stop between Carlsbad and White Sands.
It was an awesome stay, I love the location , the view is beautiful. We had plans to go to different locations during day, Roswell, Riudoso, and Silver lake. Was able to travel and get back at a reasonable time. Relax and sit on the balcony.
We've been into the cafe twice now, once for pizza & it was delicious! My husband has gotten a western burger, & was honestly the biggest hamburger I've ever seen! I got a club and it was big enough for 2 meals, my big 17 year old son ate the other half when we got home, and was full! We do want to try more of the menu, and DO highly recommend you get in there & get you some!
Reserved a double bed room for one night. The room was very spacious. Beds are comfy. Room includes 2 leather recliners, a fireplace and a dining table. You can walk out to the deck and sit on a rocker while relaxing and looking at the mountain. Under you is a Cafe. We will be eating there for breakfast in the morning. Next door is a little general store, beware, Mayhill is dry, so no alcohol sold at the store. one unique thing to prepare for is that the bathroom is not in the room, ours is across the hall and has the same keypad to get in as our door. Across the street is a cute little grassy area where you can picnic or the kids can run around. Overall, it has some charm and quirks but worked for a one night stay.
genuinely one of my all time favorite places to eat up here. My whole family loves it too. Honestly amazing food. They’re usually understaffed, so stuff does take a little bit, but it’s well worth the wait in my opinion. I honestly like their breakfasts better, but their lunch/dinner options are really good too.
We only visited the cafe for breakfast, but it was fantastic. The food took a while to come to the table, but when it did, it was worth the wait. The portions were huge and the price can’t be beat. I’ll definitely be back.
We went to the Mayhill cafe for lunch. We both had their Patty melt sandwich with french fries & sweet tea. Our Waitress was awesome & our meal was made by someone that actually knew the right way to make it.
